I love to bake but sometimes you need ice cream for a celebration. Whether it’s a big deal, a birthday, graduation, shower, or some other awesome event, there’s an easy, and I do mean easy, way to celebrate in style and make something that’s totally customizable with very little effort. I had never heard of this product, The Curious Creamery, before but I will be buying more and making ice cream cakes and ice cream pies for all sorts of occasions. I’m already planning some apple, pumpkin and minty combos for the upcoming holidays – it’s that easy to use and that delicious. You can add almost ANY liquid to it, including alcohol, smoothies, kefir, and create amazing flavors with the liquid and with mix-ins, chocolate, fruit, marshmallows – you name it! The bottom half of the instructions above has a lot more suggestions. You can find The Curious Creamery in the Celebration Aisle of Walmart.
With The Curious Creamery you can make ice cream with just a third of the fat, calories, and saturated fat of regular ice cream, there are NO preservatives, no artificial colors or flavors, no high-fructose corn syrup, no gluten to name a few things that are missing (a good thing!) and The Curious Creamery is decreasing the carbon footprint while still providing a delicious, awesome and better-for-you product that includes the most indulgent ingredients.
Each box contains two packages (packets). I used one packet for this recipe but it expands so much that it was enough to make two large pies – enough for 16 servings. This is definitely party worthy but because it can be stored in the freezer you can make one dessert/pie/cake now and save one for another day. That’s what I did.
Now on to the Recipe!
S’mores Ice Cream Pie
1 Box of The Curious Creamery in German Chocolate
2 1/4 cups cold whipping cream
1 1/8 cup cold milk
3/4 cup sugar
One Packet of Mix
1 cup of mini marshmallows
1 milk chocolate candy bar
2 graham crackers – crushed
1 graham cracker pie crust
Add chilled cream and milk to mixing bowl.
Add one pouch of ice cream mix.
Mix on medium speed for 3 to 5 minutes until the ice cream is wavy and fluffy. Remove from stand mixer.
Gently fold in 1 cup of mini marshmallows – or more if you desire!
Get your pre-made graham cracker pie crust….
And fill with ice cream (one package was enough for me to fill 2 pie crusts).
Place a layer of parchment paper directly over the ice cream, cover with plastic wrap and aluminum foil and freeze for 2+ hours.
Remove from freezer and start to decorate!
Top with dollops of whipped cream.
Drizzle with chocolate syrup across….
and up and down.
Sprinkle crushed graham crackers over the top…
As much as you would like….
Then add chunks of the chocolate bar into the whipped cream dollops…
Serve! – yields 16 servings.
