Today’s post is special to me because I get to share with you my new front door for the first time and how I’ve decorated it for Christmas. While I was sad to see my old black door go, it was time. I had originally planned to paint this door black but once it was installed I fell in love with the white.
I first thought of buying a fresh wreath at Costco (those are so gorgeous and for only $16.00 you can’t beat them!) but I couldn’t find one that wasn’t loosing a lot of needles so I rethought that option. Later that day I went to Michaels and found a white wreath for under $3.00 and then it hit me! I was decorating the inside this year in whites, reds and black so I decided to continue the look outside. I found this ribbon at Michaels as well and the chalkboard look sold me (plus, it was less than $2.00 so, bingo!). The week before I bought a tube of red ornaments at Joann Fabrics for about $10.00 so I was all set. I made a wreath bow (I’ll have a full tutorial on how you can make the perfect bows for wreaths, gifts and more on Wednesday so I hope you’ll come back to check it out!)….. and wired some ornaments together…. and then attached those to the wreath. I also added some red jingle bells from the Dollar Store and faux red berries to finish things off.
I really love the way it turned out. It was easy to make, thrifty – less than $10 total and it looks perfect on my new front door! So now for the rest of the Home for the Holidays tour – nothing overwhelming but so much beautiful inspiration. Be sure to check out all of the other ideas below and thank you so very much for stopping by – I can’t tell you how much it means to me.
