Sweet and Simple Easter Tablescape
Entertaining is wonderful but sometimes you want to add a little extra something into the decor mix but don’t have a lot of time or money. If that sounds like you, I have a very simple idea that you can put together in no time using items from your craft stash.
Since Easter is the next big holiday I’m sharing a sweet and simple tablescape idea for napkin “rings” as part of the Make Something From Nothing monthly blog hop.
This year I am going to be setting the table with one of my very favorite dish sets – Pfaltzgraff’s Grandma’s Kitchen. I remember the first time I saw this set I wanted it so bad I could taste it (I couldn’t really taste it but I did really, really want it!). It took me over two years to save the money to buy two sets (service for 8) and by the time I had the money saved the set was discontinued. 🙁 I was finally able to find two sets and snatched them up but I would really love to someday have a service for 12.
Since this is a very colorful set with a lot of different design elements I wanted to add something to it that brought out some of the muted tones but would not be overwhelming.
I chose a plain set of white cotton napkins as the base.
I searched my craft stash and decided to use some colorful ribbon, matching paints, old-fashioned clothes pins and a bunny cut out from a watercolorish scrapbook paper that matched my color scheme. I used my Cricut to cut the bunnies in no time using a bunny template from Cricut Access. I’m finally starting to use my Cricut and oh how I love it!
For the clothes pins I used a pencil eraser to add colorful polka dots to each clothespin in different colors and allowed the clothespins to dry.I gathered my supplies: the clothespins, ribbon, napkins and bunnies and assembled them.
I tied different colored ribbons about one-third of the way down each napkin having the bow or tie to one side. I then placed the clothes pin over the ribbon and used it to hold a paper rabbit in place.
Sweet and Simple – the perfect kind of table setting in my opinion.
After you’re done visiting me here I would love for you to visit the other ladies on the hop and check out their beautiful Easter Ideas – Make Something from Nothing.
