Make up some quick, easy and edible Christmas place cards and ornaments using Peeps and a few other items you may already have on hand.  I just love Peeps and have been decorating with them all over the house.  I hope to have a few more ideas posted for you between now and Christmas if not here on the blog, then on my Facebook page.

These were inspired by my youngest son who thought they reminded him of the mounted deer heads that have been showing up all over the internet.  His idea got me thinking and this was the end result ~ I call them peepaloupes.

I used some frames from the dollar bin at Michael’s, two packages of Christmas Peeps, some baker’s twine and small pretzels.

I laid the Peeps on top of the frames {they were a perfect fit} and then tied them on with baker’s twine.  I embellished them with some paper snowflakes and small painted clothes pins.  For the one used as an ornament I wove baker’s twine through the top design and hung as is and for the ones used as place cards, I added a paper name tag held in place with a mini clothespin.

The only thing left to add were the antlers.  For those, I gently broke a small pretzel in half and poked the ends into the little Peep heads.

That was it!
