We were going to a last minute get together with the family and since Valentine’s Day is only two days away I wanted to make some Valentine treats. Since time was an issue, I pulled out a bag of sugar cookie mix, some premade buttercream frosting and got to work. I prepared the sugar cookie mix per the package directions. Since I was going to be rolling the dough and cutting out heart shapes, once the dough was mixed I shaped it into a ball, covered with plastic wrap and placed in the refrigerator for one hour. I then lightly floured my rolling surface and got to work cutting out my cookies. I finally had a chance to use the vintage cookie cutter I purchased a few weeks ago!
Once that was done, I used my pink frosting to frost the cookies and then sprinkled with decorative sugar.
