We rarely have as much snow as we got last night….and are still getting today. There is such a silent, delicate beauty to the snow. The way it glistens at night, the way it’s purity strikes you in the day….snow is beauty.
Last night, as the snow began to accumulate, inch by inch, I experienced the same giggly happiness as I did when I was a child. I wanted to go out and PLAY in the snow! Well, my two youngest boys are sick…scratch them off the list, my oldest son….he’s somewhat of a crab….scratch him off the list, smile at husband….smile again…..whine a little…and yippeee- someone finally ‘volunteers’ to go out in the snow with me at midnight! Once we {husband and I} got out the door, it was quite hard to walk, the snow was so deep, halfway up my shins, but we forged ahead to the middle of the street, which had been plowed a few hours earlier and although there were several inches on the road, it was much easier to walk there than a sidewalk {which we couldn’t find anyway}.
One more caveat, just as we were about to leave, the power went out….no lights…but that made our walk in the snow even more magical…even more special…and even more fun! If you are able…enjoy this beautiful snowy wonderland.
