Mother’s Day is almost upon us. This year it is May 10th-ONE-1-one-week form this Sunday!
I found some great links for Mother’s Day gifts that will keep your pocketbook intact while letting Mom {or Grandma} know you love her and are thinking of her and if your Mom is anything like my mom was, she would encourage you to save money.

I made this bath salt jar back in September and it was so easy. I bought a jar at the craft store, decorated it with some ribbons, rhinestones and beads. You can really go wild at this point using vintage jewelry, lonely earrings {you know-the ones that have no mate}, scrapbooking flowers, small silk flowers, etc. I used a hot glue gun to attach all and nothing has come off even after daily exposure to the moisture of my bathroom. You may also want to add a decorative tag around the neck of the bottle that is decorated to the hilt, unless Mom prefers simplicity-then a plain tag will do just fine.
Bath Salts
Epsom salts or sea salt
food coloring
scented oil
Place your Epsom salts or sea salt into a bowl {I used a cheap bowl from the Dollar Store-one that I do not use for food}. Add your food coloring-a little goes a long way. I mixed 3 drops of blue and 2 drops of green to get the “turquoise” color above. Add a dash of your scent and mix using a wooden or plastic spoon-again one that is devoted to crafting and not food preparation.
Once all is mixed, place into your decorated jar and seal tight.

This diffuser is from a previous post-easy to make and inexpensive.
How pretty is this? A lovely pin that Mom can wear on Mother’s Day or any day.
I love looking back at items with my children’s hand prints. My mother always kept a hand print of mine from kindergarten in her nightstand drawer {It was a hand print in plaster spray painted in gold for Christmas} and I still have it. It reminds me of how much she loved me. : )
A CD case picture frame with a music or picture CD-what a thoughtful gift.
Comfort Pillow
A watering can full of flowers that can be used by Mom year after year even after the flowers are gone.
This is just adorable! A refrigerator card for mom. The template is available by clicking on the picture {link embedded}.
A vintage tray for Mom that can be used to serve her breakfast in bed or deliver dessert to her on Mother’s Day and then be used again and again throughout the year.
This stationary is made by scanning, sizing and printing your child’s artwork. I love this idea!
Candles for Mom-my favorite is the picture candle.
No photo, but here is a link for a Coupon Book for Mom-template and complete instructions available.
Links and directions for all of the photos above {with the exception of my bath salts} can be found by clicking on the photos.
Monday I will have a delicious recipe for a chocolate cake just for mom. I hope to see you then.
I will be linking this post to Hooked on Houses-Hooked on Fridays. Be sure to head over there later tonight for inspiration.
motherly hugs, mb

Love the ideas. I’m making my mom a purse for Mother’s Day (that was supposed to be her birthday present in January…ahem) but I really like the diffuser idea. I’ll have to look at that one.

You’ve compiled such a great list here with some really wonderful gifts. Your bath salt jar is beautiful! I love the color of the salts and the tag is so pretty. My other favorites are the diffuser jar, I remember loving that when it was originally posted, the children’s artwork cards (LOVE that- my daughter creates so many things on a daily basis), and the candles. I’ll be back to check out the chocolate cake recipe
